What Is Our Mission?
To relieve poverty by operating a free mobile home delivery food bank service to one parent families who are poor, of low income, and in need that are unable to go to a regular food bank in their area due to an illness or disability in the family having transportation issues that prevents them from getting the help they need visiting the local food bank. This service that we will provide fills a service gap that is not currently provided to these families, giving them a free home delivered perishable & non perishable food hamper that they would not otherwise be able to receive without this service.

We believe that God has called us to this ministry and we proudly stand in to fill the gap for those who are less fortunate.

What We Do?
FOOD BANK ON WHEELS is a compassionate Mobile Home Delivery Food Hamper Service, dedicated to supporting Single Parent Families in our community who are facing hardship due to illness or disability within their family. Our mission is simple yet impactful – to provide essential perishable and non-perishable food hampers directly to those in need.

We understand that some families cannot access a regular Food Bank due to challenging circumstances, and that’s where we step in. We’re not just a delivery service; we are the lifeline for families in Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Mission, Aldergrove, Cloverdale, Surrey, Delta, and Langley who need it the most.

Who Qualifies?
At present single parent families who are unable to go to a regular Food Bank due to issues of an illness or disabilities in the family thus having transportation issues, difficulty carrying the hampers and/or having kids/teens with disabilities with them.These issues prevent them from getting the help they need visiting a local food bank.
Why Single Parent Families?
Currently Single Parent families that have Fatherless (or Motherless) children throughout the Metro Vancouver area aren’t living in poverty because of poor personal choices. They are poor because of a combination of factors including:

Lack of quality, affordable child care
Challenges of lone parenthood
Lack of safe, affordable housing
Receiving Disability payments from the Government that are inadequately low
Reduction to funding for education and support payments to pay the bills and feed their children.
Experiences with violent and abusive ex-partners that not only affect them but the children as well, causing mental and physical challenges.
Approximately half of lone-parent families in BC live in poverty, with 85% of these families being female-led. Food insecurity is experienced by 1 in 3 Canadian women who are solo-parenting. 1 in 6 Canadian children under the age of 18 is affected by household food insecurity. Government of British Columbia. Deuteronomy 10:18 – “He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.”

Job 29:12 – “…because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them.”

Deuteronomy 15:11 – “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land”
