Preventive Care
Annual Wellness Examinations: We stress the importance of an annual physical examination for our pets. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Medical Boarding: We only provide pet boarding of those patients requiring medications as a service to our clients who are unable to access regular boarding facilities. This requires pre-approval by our hospital.

Dog in Jail
City Dog Licenses: Don’t let your dog end up in jail because he has no license. For your convenience you can now buy or renew your City of Prince George dog licenses at our hospital. Dietary Counselling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We carry a full line of therapeutic diets. You are invited to schedule a free nutritional counselling appointment with Kristie, one of our Registered Veterinary Technologists.

Holter Monitor
Holter Monitoring: We are very pleased to provide Holter Monitor services for your pet. Talk to your veterinarian about having your pets’ heart checked out by wearing this lightweight vest for 24 hours.

House Calls: Sadly, we are no longer able to offer house calls due to the extreme demand on doctor time. We would love to offer this service again in future should we find ourselves able to once again accommodate these requests.

Permanent identification: We offer tattooing and microchip identification.

Retail Products: We offer a range of toys, treats and other items you may require for your pet such as pet steps for those pets with mobility issues and life jackets for the summer enthusiasts.

In-House Laboratory
In-House Laboratory

We can run complete blood cell counts (identifying the different types of blood cells), chemistry panels (to check liver, kidney and thyroid), clotting times (to check if a pet’s blood can clot properly), snap tests to check for heart and pancreas conditions among others and i-Stat panels (to assess electrolytes, the active amount of calcium in the blood and the pH of the blood) to name a few of the tests. Often we will have results within hours!

The lab also has equipment to microscopically examine samples. We have a video microscope so we can attach pictures of what we are seeing to your file. It is also helpful for teaching.

There are tests to check for bacterial growth in urine and fungal infection in the skin.

We can analyze the urine of your pet to check for sugars, blood, crystals and more.

This enables us to do over 90% of the required blood tests right here, in Prince George. For a few of the specialized tests we have access to referral laboratories in Vancouver and even the United States.
