At the Chamois Car Wash and Detail Centre, we are fully committed to doing our part in preserving our environment and reducing our environmental impact. Not only do our washes use substantially less water than a driveway wash, but we also use non-toxic products that don’t have a detrimental impact on our air quality or local waterways.

your vehicle clean but is also working hard to keep
our environment clean as well?
Did you know…
Commercial carwash facilities like the Chamois are required to
drain their wastewater into the sanitary sewer system where it is
treated before it is discharged back into the great outdoors.
That washing your vehicle in your driveway is one of the most
environmentally un-friendly things you can do around the house.
The toxic mixture that runs off a vehicle washed in the driveway
goes untreated into storm drains and eventually into rivers,
creeks and wetlands where it poisons aquatic life.
Washing a car at home may use between 80 gallons (302 litres) to
140 gallons (529 litres) of water, while a commercial car wash like
the Chamois averages less than 65 gallons (246 litres) per car.
The Chamois uses efficient water saving equipment like
computer controlled wash systems, high-pressure nozzles and
pumps that minimize water usage.
All three Chamois locations use Eco Friendly cleaning agents
that contain: No Hydrofluoric Acids, No Nonyphenol
Ethoxylates, No Ozone Depleting Chemicals, No Aromatic
Solvents and No Formaldehyde.
The Chamois has instituted new Employee and Customer
Driven recycling programs at all of its 3 locations: 85 Reenders
Drive, 850 Waverley Street and 1285 St.James Street.
