It’s official: the UBZ Canada Business Directory app is now live on iOS and Android. After months of development, testing and improvements, Canadians can now discover businesses, explore local listings, use UBZ AI and connect with advertisers from their phones.
Getting here took a lot of work. We wanted to create more than simply a mobile version of UBZ.ca. Our goal was to make it easier and more convenient for Canadians to discover businesses, services, products and marketplace listings wherever they are.
Today, that work has reached an important milestone. UBZ is now available across the web, iPhone, iPad and Android, built in Canada, for Canada. 🇨🇦
Discover Canadian Businesses Wherever You Go
UBZ started with a simple idea: Canadian businesses of every size should have an accessible place to get discovered.
From independent shops and restaurants to contractors, professionals, service providers, retailers and growing companies, UBZ helps connect businesses with people looking for what they offer.
With the new UBZ mobile apps, that experience can now go with you. Whether you’re looking for a contractor nearby, a restaurant in another city, a professional service, a local retailer or something available through Buy & Sell, you can search and explore directly from your phone.
What Can You Do With the UBZ App?
The UBZ app brings many of the features of UBZ.ca into a mobile experience designed around local discovery. You can browse Canadian businesses and marketplace listings; search by keyword, category and location; explore listings on a map; use UBZ AI; save favourites; contact or chat with advertisers; view websites, social profiles, hours, photos and services; post and manage listings; and discover businesses across Canada.
Many discovery features are available without creating an account, so you can start exploring UBZ right away.
Meet UBZ AI
One feature we’re particularly excited about is UBZ AI. Instead of always needing to know the exact category or search term, you can describe what you’re looking for in everyday language.
For example, you might be looking for a local service, business, product or something available in a particular Canadian city. UBZ AI helps interpret your request and guide you toward relevant listings available within UBZ.
Technology should make local discovery easier, not more complicated. UBZ AI is one of the ways we’re working toward that goal.
A Free Place for Canadian Businesses to Be Discovered
Free advertising remains at the core of UBZ. Canadian businesses can create a standard business listing for free and build their presence with services, photos, business hours, location, website, phone number and other contact options.
Listings can be discovered through UBZ.ca as well as the UBZ mobile apps. Optional promotional features such as Featured, Top and Bump Up are available for businesses that want additional visibility, but a promotion is not required to publish a standard listing.

UBZ Is Also a Marketplace for Canadians
UBZ isn’t only for businesses. Individuals can also use our Buy & Sell marketplace to post eligible items, products, rentals and other listings.
Our goal is to create one Canadian platform where businesses, sellers, buyers and customers can discover and connect with one another — from Vancouver to Toronto, Montréal to Calgary, Winnipeg to Halifax, and communities of every size across Canada.
