About Cecilia Music
Traditionally, St. Cecilia of Rome is the patron saint of musicians and of music.
She is one of the most famous martyrs of Rome, and has been immortalized in poems and music throughout the ages, including modern times. The National Academy of Santa Cecilia, founded by papal decree in 1585, is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world. Her feast day, November 22, is celebrated, with music festivals and concerts, in many churches around the world. St. Cecilia is frequently depicted playing either a small viola or a violin.

In her honour, Cecilia Music strives for excellence in violin instruction. We recognize the joy in beautiful music celebrated in honour of St. Cecilia.

Cecilia Music offers opportunities for group ensembles and performances. Violin lessons are designed around the student in order to discover their own musical talents and pursue excellence, self-expression and, most of all, joy.

Violin and Theory Lessons
In-person and online violin lessons. Learn to play in class or in the comfort of your home. You can customize your lessons based on your level of experience whether you are a new player or looking to brush up on some of your skills.

Miriam has been playing classical violin since the age of four.
Miriam started her lessons with the Suzuki Music School in Calgary and carried on with this method in Vancouver. As Miriam advanced, she continued with the Royal Conservatory of Music, completing Grade 9 along with theory.

With a passion for performance, Miriam joined the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra and later the Burnaby Symphony Orchestra.

As a professional musician, I am available for weddings, funerals, parties, and church services. For many years I have been performing, in different capacities, throughout the lower mainland.
